Not 'irrelevant' to me.

I look at the whole 'elephant'... not just the part of the trunk sticking into the tent.

(And, the FACT that we deliberately closed our eyes to the BULK of Saddam's embargo-busting --- because it involved our allies, not our 'enemies' --- lends a pretty high 'hypocrisy level' to all our bleating about the UN contracts... which, after all, represented a much *smaller* amount of embargo cheating, and where even those contracts were ALL subject to our review and, or disapproval... and we refused to block ANY of them.)
