I wonder if women collect more stuff then men? In my house (soon to be two houses) I'm constantly finding stuff I want to toss. Most of this stuff has been left behind by my other half who never fails to see a future useful purpose for any old thing that passes through his hands.

I didn't mean to be rude, but after reading several opinions about stuff and what to do with it, I notice that people say things like: as you age you find you don't need all that stuff. Or: after collecting all that stuff, and getting rid of it, I feel so much better......you will too......once you try. Or: when you've retired and find that there are other, more important things in life than making money to acquire stuff.....ect. They all seem to be older than me, and you do seem to have reached that level........well, you get my drift.

I wonder if there is a time in everyone's life where they reach a point where too much stuff gets in the way of continued growth so they toss it hoping it leads to better things?

I regret tossing some stuff. We used to have this old set of leather luggage that was made in the 50s. There were two pieces, one a bit larger than the other. I saw two very similar pieces stacked on top of one another being used as an end table next to an overstuffed chair. I think in my haste I gave them to good will years ago.......I just can't remember. I'm going up in the attic tomorrow to see. My only concern is heaving aside everything, because if they are there, they are most likely buried under all the other stuff. -gg-
