Violence will continue for a while but there will be a change. When the elections are complete the leader will have a mandate to impose some order on behalf of the citizens in general.
Iraqis are used to having a tough boss so it would be easy for them to understand and it also explains why the Sunnis are so desperate and worried.

It has taken a long time for Iraqis to recognize they have enemies amongst themselves worse than the US and that the US has not come as occupiers.

Starting in February Iraqi security forces should become much bolder with a consolidated plan and support of others to eliminate contaminated areas. They will be able to tell residents what to expect if violence in their city continues.

Fallugha was a roaring success , so a similar operation in other cities like Mosul could be expected. House to house to find and eliminate stored explosives.

Our forces should be primed and ready with plenty of predators and armored vehicles to help.


Terrorists will find themselves with fewer friends, less ammo, fewer hiding holes, and less organization.
