DD,
IVXR has piqued my curiosity about these infamous fly-by-night "Y2K" companies, and after rummaging through SI, I think I may have found IVXR's inspiration: TPI, a fellow Canadian company with a fully automated Y2K "Re-engineering" solution called "CyberPlan". (Hmmm... When IVXR was involved in "Waste Management", did they by any chance land the contract for emptying TPI's dumpsters?)
TPII has 6 threads on SI, with over 3400 posts so far, not counting the many spam hypes on other threads. My favorite header is this one: Subject 9310 , which includes such classics as:
"My source says that (NASDAQ BB:TPII) is the next Presstek.
"TPI has brought together the technologies and experience to deliver services and products which will make TPI the world's only single-source organization capable ofre-engineering application software from IBM mid-range and all mainframe systems so as to provide equivalent functionality on today's and tomorrow's computer platforms.
"THEY ARE THE ONLY FIRM THAT HAS PROVEN AUTOMATED MIGRATION OF IBM SYSTEMS.
"They are in the process of setting up strategic alliances with multi-billion dollar players. The big boys. "
TPII used to be "Samual Hamann Graphix", until they stumbled upon their automated solution to Y2K. (There should be a thread just for the companies that make these dramatic quantum leaps of expertise! I previously marveled at a few of these on the scam thread: techstocks.com
They paid George Chelekis to tout them in his "HOT STOCKS REVIEW", alongside the usual Canadian mining company suspects. (Chelekis has since managed to get himself banned from the Vancouver Stock Exchange for excessive hype- no mean feat!)
Recently, the TPII thread has expressed genuine disappointment that TPI will not be presenting at the big Crutttenden-Roth Y2K Conference.
TPII stock is currently trading at $0.40 (0.375 x 0.500), down 92% from its 52-week high, apparently due to an extended shakeout by those infernal MMs.
"At this price, there's no down side, and unlimited upside potential!"
And, for anyone who may have missed it, Bill Wexler has started an excellent, and important, thread to discuss whether the entire Y2K "emergency" is a scam- please check it out at Subject 15277
Peace, Droog
