Richard; I am anti royal for the same reasons you espouse, however I have a very sympathetic feeling for her, as the royals were not nice to her, Charles, the 'geek with the freak', with his fixation on Camilla. He had to have that infatuation from prior times, and should never have entered into an insincere marriage. The queen with her exclusionary policies after the separation is another example, and now she lets Diana get a royal funeral, a bit late I say. I am no royal toady, and the world would be better of with no royals at all. We should toss that all away with all the god propaganda too. The idea that there is some being in the sky controlling us is as ludicrous as the idea that it has givem a right to rule to some royals. I think religion is just a scheme to allow priests to live a parasitic existence on the rest of us. Royalty; the same thing.
After all this Diana has become free, and had run with the bit between her teeth. Dodi was an absolute cur, living only on money his father gives him from time to time, with no earned funds of his own, looking for rich dollies, he must have thought he was in heaven. However I think she was rubbing the royals noses in the muck by seeming to consort with him. Like the hollywood matchings, they are often not what they seem to be.
I sympathise with her for the tragic ending she received, and not for any royal support. The British people liked her a great deal, she was the only pretty princess they have had in living memory. The rest of the royals, a total waste of mindwidth(bandwidth).
