We were driving around in Napa and stopped to shop at Dean and Delucca (yum) and I bought several packages of these SCONES, because they were having a tasting and they were so good, AND because the woman said they were so easy to make little kids could do it.
You just take the mix and a cup of heavy cream (sorry, they don't advise substitutions)- mix it up, cut the dough in wedges, or ball up the dough (into about 8 sections), and bake. I used one bowl. The lemon and the raspberry are out of this world. I will be trying more out on the family shortly- and there is free shipping :-)
Order them in the baggy rather than the box and you save 50 cents (if giving as a gift, spring for the box, it's pretty).

My order just came today Mephisto- I ordered cherry, cranberry, lemon and raspberry. I had saved the boxes, because I wasn't sure instructions would come with the bags, but they do send you a nice instruction sheet with your bags of mix- if you opt not to order the boxes. |
