Do you wonder how long logic will be held in abeyance in America?

As long as people are happier believing rather than thinking for themselves. Certain societies seem more disposed than others to believe in a motivational set of myths, and submit to the craftiest purveyors of those myths.

Once people have invested in a belief system, it goes against human nature to admit a mistake and give up those myths, no matter how much contrary evidence is put in front of them.

That's true of partisans on the left and the right. Partisanship blinds reason and enquiry, by definition.
