The people of India probably care. Did you grow up being proud that you were from India? Are you proud of all the wonderful achievements that have come from your people and nation? Do you call yourself an Indian (is that the right terminology?) or do you call yourself an American? These are a few questions that go to the issue of nationality. Being proud of who you are, your heritage and background is one of the most important ingredients humans possess imo. As you must be well aware by now, most Americans don't have any problem talking about or being proud of their nation.
