Starting an exploratory position in thinly-traded NCRIC Group, Inc. (Nasdaq National Market:NCRI).

A small insurance company basically. Yahoo description is:

"The Company has two segments: insurance and practice management services. The insurance segment provides medical professional liability and other insurance. The practice management services segment provides medical practice management services to private-practicing physicians."

I like it's p/book.

Forward p/e (based on company's top est. of '05 earnings) is 11.

For physician insurance, they say: "We are the market share leader in the District of Columbia and in Delaware."

Aside: The percentage increases they are getting year-over- year are in double digits. I haven't calculated dollar amounts, but this company's increases sure give credence to physicians (and President Bush's) concerns about medmal insurance/expensive lawsuits/tort reform.
