TOPRO or TAVA? What's the right name?

Topro (dba TAVA). Official name change to TAVA being voted on, I believe, Sept or Oct. At which time, Topro indicated that they plan on having NASDAQ listing changed to "TAVA".

Integrator Topro Becomes TAVA: Aerospace to Wastewater

Denver, Colo.--Topro Inc.--to reposition as a nationwide system integrator -- renamed itself TAVA Technologies, reflecting acqquisitions of four regional competitors in transactions dating to August 1995. TAVA Technologies claims $40 million in annual sales, 350 employees, and 10 major U.S. sites.

Together the five companies "specialize in developing and installing manufacturing control systems...to form the nation's largest independent information and automation technology company," the company said in a May 13 statement. Topro's plan to create TAVA was announced in December 1996.

John Jenkins, chairman for TAVA Technologies, says his company has "the technical capability of serving virtually any manufacturer and integrating all aspects of manufacturing operations." The combined company can better handle large, multiple-site projects, having benefited from "technological cross-fertilization."

Industries served include aerospace, automotive, consumer goods, food and beverage, forest products, metals, mining and minerals, petrochemicals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, utilities, and water and wastewater.

Customers include Abbott Laboratories, Amoco, Atmel, Baxter, Boeing, Chevron, Ford, Frito-Lay, General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, City of Los Angeles, Nabisco, NASA, Pacific Power & Light, Phelps Dodge, 3M, US Steel, Weyerhauser.
