I've been to Yucatan many times- -Mesoamerican archaeology, a passion of mine. It's not uncommon when hunting down an obscure site to come across Mayan men with rifles out hunting deer and turkey. Should I carry a gun of my own and shoot them?

I'm afraid Granny will wait a long, long time for that. I've come to respect those Maya over many decades. A good people. Hard working, thrifty, clean, honest. We should have kept that peninsula, regardless of how that would upset marcos. We could have done a lot with those people. As it is, they are being destroyed and overrun as Cancun comes to dominate the peninsula.
