No.
That's one thing I have in common with cats.

I had an 8:30 court appearance in Pomona on the 5th.
It was rainy and cold.
I arrived early (8 am), which is no mean feat.

The brilliant powers that be wouldn't let anyone
INTO the courthouse until 9 am. (Ordinarily, you
can get in at least by 8).

We all stood outside, beneath umbrellas (not all had them
or even coats) for over a hour until they started letting people in. It was so cold you could see your breath.

Now I realize that folks like Rainy Day Woman would think me
a wimp since this was hardly snow and ice; still I was freezing and, frankly, hopping mad. Evidently the delay had to
do with bringing in prisoners for criminal matters and
some problem with the elevators used for that purpose.
The criminals got to enter before the rest of us.

This problem had evidently been going on for a month.
But no one could be bothered to give a thought to
the users of the courthouse.............

The only good part was that there was a lawyer's line and
we entered first by flashing the bar card.
