However, the fact that there was a 3.3 and a 3.6 at the same location tells me that these may be pre-quakes. If you remember back in 1994, there were two 4.0 earthquakes a week or two prior to the Northridge quake (I was in a movie theater in Westwood for one of them).

Of course, I am not a geologist, I just play one on tv.
