No offense taken at all. Actually the references to meateating Baptists from Ky was more provocative than the madman Bush; we had just gotten back from visiting our dearest old friends who happen to be just that. And also the most well-read and educated, travelled, and kindest people I know. But I know they would have laughed at it, so I did, too.

Writing to Cos made me think about the changes in SI during the year leading up to the election. Political threads questioned all sources and vetted all opinions. Some threadheads refused to even allow certain sources to be used. OPposing views swarmed like white blood cells to the source of a suspect post and attacked. You got out of the habit of just smiling politely and saying, that's interesting, you might be right.

Returning to the ambiance of the old Feelies where intuition, facts, and fantasy all mingled together and no one fretted about it is a challenge.
