I believe the assimilation process is a sad state of affairs for jews as it is for all people who lose their ethnic base. I've seen one projection which shows that by 2050 there will be only 60,000 practicing jews left in the country.

I did not intnroduce this subject to the PvsW thread and should probably never have responded. I do like to provoke people, sometimes unnecessarily. But then I would not have received your post which was most valuable.
