WSJ.com - BIRD DROP: While Rep. John Conyers (D., Mich.) was busy questioning the presidential election vote, back in Detroit a local charity has been asking what happened to the 60 turkeys it delivered to Rep. Conyers's staff before Thanksgiving for distribution to the poor.

The Detroit Free Press reported Tuesday that the director of Gleaner's Community Food Bank, Agostinho Fernandes, got worried after a local court worker told a friend that he was offered free turkeys by a Conyers staffer. "Our mission of feeding hungry people has been violated by the people who should have been guardians of our mission," Mr. Fernandes told the paper after trying in vain to get a list from the congressman's office documenting actual needy recipients. As of Thursday, Mr. Fernandes was still waiting.
