Oliver Stone says it is the American people and President Bush's fault that his movie Alexander the Gay bombed...doop!
Famous Finger Pointing Moonbat Points Fingers, at YOU. Oliver Stone Blames YOU for His Failure"
NEW YORK, NY, (NAMC) Jan 6, 2005, The controversial director Oliver Stone points the blame at the American audiences and critics for the poor box office performance of his latest film “Alexander”. His movies don't suck; we do. Be enlightened.
He said that the media put the focus on the issue of homosexuality in the movie and that became a deterrent. He went on to further blame the U.S. Iraq invasion for distracting filmgoers, saying that people would compare Alexander the Great’s actions in the Middle East with that of US President Bush. Many call Hitler an Alexander the Great wannabe, so I guess he's using geometry to sit in front of his tiny audience and say "Bush is congruent to Hitler".
Oliver Stone a three time Oscar winner took this opportunity to throw in a few digs at President Bush saying that “I think it makes people feel queasy about empire and the concepts that Alexander espoused, but Alexander was not attacking the east in order to drain it of its resources. He stayed in the east.” Oh, now isn't that the greatest colonial imperialist argument heard in the past 30 years? The only way to be at one with a people is genocide followed up by absolute rule, and if you squeeze them for centuries they'll love you for it. Stalin could've used such a publicist. Castro should sign this guy up. Oop, he already did.
So it seems that Oliver Stone is blaming the American public, the American critics and the American President for the limited success of his film “Alexander”, there was another movie that faced heavy controversy when it was released and instead of blaming the world he defended his project and it became a very high grossing film amidst the controversy, the movie was “Passion of the Christ”, Mel Gibson’s project. Maybe the reason "Alexander" tanked revolves around bad writing, blond Greeks, disjoint storytelling, and Oliver Stone. When the Hollywood environment selects for dingbats it gets dingbats, but when audience selects for quality we get the box-office tally. Go Mel.
[Imperial Addendum: We believe that we can safely say that Oliver Stone(d) lowers the bar to the point where it's no longer even worth digging as far as "this-thing-or-the-other would be so much better if it wasn't for this Mad Rush to War™"-accusations go. We thought it impossible for Ollie Whackjob to get any more insane than he already was, but there you have it, we once again underestimated the depravity of the Moonbat "Mind". - Emp. Misha I] |
