Once again, your standard is "whatever you can get away with" -- we got away with Vietnam, although the same cannot be said for hundreds of thousands of US soldiers and millions of Vietnamese civilians. Now we are getting away with Iraq, although the same cannot be said for the Americans and Iraqis who died.
