<cleared of cooking intelligence> Again -- the standard is what you can get away with. There was no intelligence of any kind that would lead to the conclusion that Iraq constituted a serious threat to the United States -- absolutely none. By willfully presenting whatever scraps of intelligence were aviable on the UN case against Saddam, and by pretending that this evidence substantiated the existance of Iraqi WMDs AND a threat to the United States, the Bush Administration perpetuated the big lie -- the big lie that we in self-defense must invade and occupy Iraq. From that point on, the agenda has been to be sure that Bush gets away with this.
