I got your point, but my answer sucked.
I think when gold declines investors eventually will go back into
producers because after the intial selloff they remember they are
real operating viable businesses with assets and cash flow.

When gold is rising, everyone is a speculator looking for El Dorado
When gold is declining, everyone becomes an investor looking for reality.
