You can tell a lot about a company by how they name it. For instance Shield Gold went through 40 names before they settled on Shield.

Peregrine was named for the Peregrine Penguin of the Antarctic Islands where Shackelton finally made landfall after his fateful voyage. The company was sympathetically named from the bird's habit of collecting diamonds off the beach. Peregrines swallow the stones for grinding the food in their gullets.
