[whatever this means<g>]--China grants special status to Honeywell

Friday, January 7, 2005

MORRIS TOWNSHIP - China has granted Honeywell International Inc. status as a "well-known" trademark, making the U.S. technology conglomerate one of only four international companies to be so recognized in the burgeoning Chinese market.

The diversified manufacturer said the designation came about after it sued Wuxi Honeywell Precision Manufacture Co. Ltd. for improperly using the Honeywell name.

Honeywell, which has been operating in China since 1932, employs 4,000 staff in the country and has local headquarters in Shanghai.
