take what you wrote and apply it to some inner city like Detroit or Washington DC. When are we going to abandon those places because we have failed to stop the killing? Why do you think the two are analogous? Detroit and DC are both in the US and populated mostly by Americans. Iraq is a separate country and culture, and populated mostly by Iraqis. Your comparison makes no sense.
