This is looking more and more like a who's afraid of the big bad wolf USD rally. Even I was shaking in fear at the prospect of a big fund liquidation when I saw the specs/funds long 373,996 in the Fx subtotal on 11-16, and long 217,564 in gold. They've gotten a little more mileage taking the yellow dog down, but I show them down to long 145,893 last Tuesday when POG was 428. Obviously lower now. And the USD? All the why down to 218,610, and what did the USD do, managed to rally from 80 to 82, whoppie. The last three days has taken it up to 83 and change, and no doubt knocked down spec holdings even more. Is this al the can manage with this kind of liquidation? Not a god sign for the USD. Meanwhile the GLD ETF added 31.37 tonnes in real physical buying during this correction since 12-29.
