Why yes, he is starting to grasp the hopelessness of the situation, and the fact that it was a long shot gamble that cost 13,000 US casualties and killed 100,000 Iraqi civilians, mostly women and children (so far).

I must have missed the part in Bush's State Of The Union Address where he said we were going to Iraq to start a secular/religious war. we would have certainly supported that.

What a fine learning! I suppose he thought the Iraqi's did want to be ruled by us, all through their history. I suppose Mr. Friedman assumes the WHOLE WORLD wants to be rules by us.
What an spineless chickenhawk. Even the conservatives are starting to realize what a freaking nightmare Bush has created, and they are scrambling for some kind of moral footing. It's not there.
Now they want to "declare victory" after the elections, and "cut and run".
Well fuck you all. You've created a huge disaster in the ME, you created a new generation of terrorists, you've killed 100,000 Iraqi civilians, you've created 13,000 US soldier casualties, you've ruined the reputation of the US in the world. I won't even talk about the expense because thats the least of your sins.
Now it's time to "cut and run". Assholes, I hope you burn in hell, and if there is a God, I suspect you will. Unless you don't believe you are accountable to your God. Unless you don't believe that supporting all this death is a sin.
Those of such deep faith, what do you think your God thinks of all this? How can you atone for 100,000 civilians, "mostly women and children"?
