more on moore

(National) Dec. 28, 2004 - Filmmaker Michael Moore might have to work pretty hard to snag interviews for his next documentary. He plans to target the health care industry with the film "Sicko," but the industry doesn't want to be targeted.

At least six major drug companies, including Pfizer and Astra Zenca, are telling staffers to be on the lookout for Moore and not to speak to him. In addition to drug companies, "Sicko" takes on insurance companies, HMO's, and the food and drug administration.

In the past, Moore has targeted General Motors, the gun lobby, and most recently, President Bush.

- not that it should surprise him, interview evading

When first time filmmaker Michael Wilson got shouted down in his attempt to get an interview with Moore, a dozen or so leftists (of the 7,000 watching) came out to praise Wilson for his courage and to say that Moore behaved badly. Another leftist at an alternative newspaper in Flint said Moore should not be so vicious in his attacks and feared that if Moore "is the face of liberal people in America, we're going to look like a bunch of fools."

The trailer for Michael Moore Hates America features a clip from a television interview where Moore was asked if he would grant Michael Wilson an interview. Instead of simply stating that he had no desire to appear in a movie called 'Michael Moore Hates America', Moore evaded the question by saying that he doesn't appear in any movies other than his own. The trailer then goes on to show a list of movies that Michael Moore has appeared in that were not his own. Moore's critics contend this is symptomatic of the inaccurate statements which they claim Moore makes in F/911
