Shrub never had a real agenda before 9/11, just a few soppy odds and ends in domestic policy. Now he will face the same dilemma. Once Iraq has proved impossible to "save" we will pronounce victory there anyway and hunker down. Osama can get on with his real agenda of trying to create a new fundamentalist empire in the Middle East - not the US. And Shrub can babble on with his usual stumbling cliches while he presides over the further debasement of the US dollar and America's standing in the world. Lining your friends' pockets can only occupy so much of your day. That's my guess.
