We should never, ever, forget what Hitler did to the Jews. We have to make sure that it never happens again to any "race" or groups of people.

We can all agree with that generalization. Generalizations are very useful. However, it's when we get into specifics that is when we run into trouble.

I am sure you would very passionately defend against Hu Jin Tao from "liberating" New Zealanders from rulers with long noses, but my guess is that you would not mind it that much if GWB "liberated" the Chinese from rulers who were not democratically elected. In either of these scenarios, large numbers of innocent people would have to be hurt unnecessarily.

IMO we have to be just as passionate about not wanting to see Chinese being hurt as we do New Zealanders.

But, what does this have to do with your original objection of my proposition that the "Chinese extended family" be allowed to settle the Taiwan/China issue on their own?

You are far more clever than I am in every facet of life, but I am not sure about your motivation.

IMO my proposition is simple. It has a chance to work. Far fewer people would be hurt by it. It is not based on any convoluted motivations. There is no motivation to fool anyone. The motivation is race, color, national origin, and DNA blind.
