Well, I think you have clearly established your position on the political spectrum - so far left that everybody is to the right of you. However, it is the majority that gets to make the definitions, not the fringes.

But to the extent that there is a Left, the Left is concerned with human rights broadly speaking and has been worried about the punishing burden of sanctions on the Iraqi people.

...so they wanted those nasty sanctions lifted and Saddam...well, Saddam would have been left free as air to do what he wanted. But that was okay with the Left. Personally, I have never been able to see one iota of care for the Iraqi people in this "solution".
