LOL. It may seem I am for two seperate and opposite things, but I'm really not. I think the best alternative the entire Western world could have employed to end terrorism, would have been to focus on alternative fuels and boycott Middle East oil. However, no one in the White House today has the guts or vision to do anything like that. The second best thing would have been to exhaust all diplomatic channels wrt Iraq and then enlist the entire U.N. in collective action against Iraq. The third best option was to go it alone.

I will never understand the thinking that led to Iraq. Everyone jokes that women are from Venus and men from Mars. That same dichotomy separates the hawks from the doves. To my mind, there is no logic that justified attacking Iraq. Its something made up in the minds of Rummie, Cheney and Bush. That's why its such an abysmal failure.

The common thread to all those options is that I believe something very big and drastic had to and still has to be done about the Middle East. Each option varies in benefits and risks, with the first option being the best. But, I'm just a common citizen, and unfortunately, this country doesn't tend to elect the best and brightest anymore. We just elect those who have the most money to campaign with.

If you want to do something big in the ME, then do something big peacefully. I have never known of a situation where a horse was forced into drinking the water.
