What are the odds of you being shot on the street by a mugger today -- somebody will be shot today, will it be you? Would you say the odds of you being shot by a mugger on the street today are high? They are much higher than the odds of you being harmed by al Qaeda. People died on 9/11, but the odds of me being harmed are extremely low -- that is a fact -- those are the odds. The odds of a soldier deployed to Iraq today being seriously injured or killed are extremely high. Do I know which ones will be killed? No, I only know the odds.
