Doesn't ERF have some Canadian only shares ?

Or, could be some one buying the lower priced Canadian only shares of OTHER energy trusts (which have high distributions), then naked selling ERF which has a lower distribution, making this a carry trade.

ERF 9.81%

PMT 14.4%
AE 13.8%
AVN 14.0%

That's a nice deal - clear 4%.

4% on very little invested...

Most likely they scaled the trade so that they clear 3 %, and kept about 9% of the short sale proceedes for some other activity...like paying big fees to their broker, or paying their lawyers, or their own salaries...
