Gottfried,

I learned the hard way that people in certain parts of the world - especially those in portions of the Orient - are extremely averse to having their picture taken. Even under the best of circumstances.

There is something intrusive/invasive/intimidating/"not right"/whatever, about taking a photo of someone, even if they are a willing participant. My dogs don't even like to have their picture made.

I've never really been able to reconcile this dilemma to my own satisfaction. I love to take pictures of people. The best photos are those of people taken by surprise, or as candids. Precisely those that tend to inflame people the most. As such, I've all-but-given-up on photography.

My (admittedly controversial) advice to those (celebs included) who don't like to have their picture taken is this - - get over it!
