greg, i think you don't know how the cpq bto and cto works by your comments.
they hook all the vendors and custmoers up via edi and internet.
It's a pretty high tech method and it will minimize any of this touching stuff you talk about and reduce cycle times to days.
do some research on xtranets and edi replenishments and drop edi messages.
