A guy I know in the bond business said Delta is lowering fares in order to put US Airways out of business, even tho its bad for Delta bottom line at the moment. He said there is 15% overcapacity in the airlines business and that US Air is 15% so in the end that's what the airlines want anyway although nobody is saying it out loud.
