"Ah, most of those links praise the Canadian system. Your life expectancy and infant mortality rates are in the header too. Which ones are smoke and mirrors"
-The waiting times are exaggerated.

Let's see your data to back that assertion up.

Her's some from BC's own gov't. While not as high as Fraser's numbers, they are nothing to write home to mother about either. They far exceed what I would accept in the US.

News from Alberta:
angelfire.com
Alberta Health's website says waiting times in Calgary are as follows:

- 62 weeks for a hip replacement at Peter Lougheed Centre;

- 62 weeks for general surgery at Rocky- view General Hospital;

- 30 weeks for MRI scans at Foothills Medical Centre;

- 54 weeks for knee replacement surgery at Rockyview General Hospital;

- 11 weeks for cardiac surgery at Foothills Medical Centre.

Maybe Fraser got it right.

MRI scans? I've had some. The "wait time" varied from a day to a few days.

Manitoba says it has the shortest wait times in Canada. A mere 5 weeks to get oncological treatement for cancer started.

Fraser again on that one. You are certainly free to produce your own sources.

"There's another question, though: How do you know your better numbers are a result of those outrageous taxes? Suppose you DIDN'T get robbed by your own gov't and had money to enjoy life? Is that worth nothing?"
-I don't understand the question?

Come now. Gov't take every cent they can get their paws on. They have insatiable maws and unfillable bellies. If you didn't have to pay such outrageous taxes, at least part of the year you might be able to get out of that country down to where its warm and life is easier. Is that worth nothing?

-Most who need something medically done, want the procedure done immediately. So they usually go to the U.S. Some people just will not wait.
Yeah. A bunion surgery is minor, elective surgery- -unless it's YOUR bunion and and it's YOU who effectively can't walk. Then it's not so minor or elective.

Great you have health coverage, how many Americans do not?
The answer to THAT question can inspire unending argument and much fact twisting.

"One link says $2600 per capita. Call me skeptical."
- Do you mean per Family? If so ,it's much too high.

"Per capita" means "per person".

-Doctor shortage, nurse shortage, I do not see it. Probably a Union ploy in contract talks :))
Your own gov'ts number were used.
