The government helped these industries by making it easier to bring meds to market and they happily took the tax money even though they knew cigarettes were dangerous 40 years ago. At what point does the government itself become liable for knowledge and aiding a process that hurt the citizens? They sold us out for tax money! Then they stepped in and sued on OUR BEHALF? Yeah right.
