Truth is, the 50 caliber isn't that great on stopping power. I have a .45 Win Mag automatic and was kind of surprised when I saw its stopping power was only in the mid 80 percents. The .50 has similar numbers. The best is still the Federal 125 gr .357 magnum hollow point. 97% one shot stops. The only reason for ever shooting a handgun is to stop somebody from doing something really bad. A lot of these bullets kill folks eventually, but that may be after the PCP addict has stabbed you several times.

The reason they go through body armor is the same reason they don't stop folks. It zips right through and doesn't cause enough shock to the system to shut it down.
