I disagree. I believe AM was for 2000 accord. He plays in a dangerous neighborhood and plays to his base much like W with the religous right and the Dems to moveon.org. Of course the Pal base has committed horrific acts but it will take one of their own to get them to reform their ways. Who cares why he stops terror along as its stopped. The lesson to the west is that terror can be stopped if the terrorists are crushed. Good less for Israeli governments of the future as well as for the US. Iraqis will have to deal with this as well. Am i optimisitc about an I-P settlement no, just a bit more hopeful that the groundwork that is being laid today--end of Infitada and Israel pullout from gaza are both good first states even if both sides still viscerally hate each other.
