they make 40k, 20k each

time to get a better job, more skills/training/education

child care tax credit <6000k> for 2

higher education tax credit <4000k>

standard deduction amount 2003 for married couples filing jointly <9,500k>

kiddies 3 x 750 <2250k>

that's standard exemptions and deductions of <21,750>

if they have a mortgage their interest and RE tax is also deductible

they end up in the 10 or 15 % tax bracket on AGI

at 18k @ 15% that's $2700 tax

or

at 14k @ 10% it's $1400 tax [with a house mortgage]

that's a huge tax break to enable them to have their family, their home and still have the opportunity to further their ability/skills/education to earn more income
