Wireless Coverage ...

<< The problem is.......CDMA has its restrictions. >>

M,

You are using Samsung SCH-a670 all digital dual-band 1xRTT model. I know you have stated that you have "had several friends and family try their phones at the property......all of which are different models by different manufacturers......none of which worked." but ...

... have you tried a 'tri-mode' with good RF characteristics (best possible combination of) for both CDMA (whether IS-95 or 1xRTT) and 800 MHz AMPS?

Verizon has done an exceptional job in recent years of extending digital coverage, but as a practical business matter their exceptional national coverage is enhanced by AMPS. Tri-modes exist for that reason and a dual-mode is simply the wrong choice for anyone that travels into remote areas with difficult terrain or without. You might (or might not) be able to catch analog carrier at your "place in the mts" with any mobile phone but a tri-mode would sure enhance your coverage capability overall. I subscribe Verizon first and foremost for its excellent nationwide coverage but I would not consider a dual-mode digital phone. It simply doesn't yet go some of the places I go.

Best,

- Eric -
