Dear Friend,
It's showtime - the independent panel investigating Rathergate has released its final report today - all 234 pages of it.
At Rathergate.com, we're going through the entire thing, so you don't have to. I strongly encourage you to visit the site throughout not only today - but the coming week.
What we've learned so far is that four senior CBS employees have been sacked for their participation in the 60 Minutes II report, as well as the aftermath that followed. We also know that the report has come to the (laughable) conclusion that there was no political bias at CBS.
But the real gem that we've found so far - Dan Rather, who got his cushy, well-paid retirement package - STILL BELIEVES THE DOCUMENTS ARE REAL.
Yes, you read that correctly - and just to make sure there's no misunderstanding, here's the quote from the report:
"Rather informed the Panel that he still believes the content of the documents is true because “the facts are right on the money,” and that no one had provided persuasive evidence that the documents were not authentic."
Hard to believe, but true. We'll be releasing a full statement later this evening, and then we'll be asking you to help us keep up the pressure on CBS News and Dan Rather. This isn't even close to over, friends.
Again, I thank you for your effort, and your support. You’re driving a new media revolution – and I’m proud to have a ringside seat.
Best,
Mike Krempasky Rathergate.com |
