as you know, Bush squeaked by in reelection. He is way below most incumbents. WAY BELOW. An electoral college map skews the real numbers because as you know, most of the GDP of the country is on the coasts. Many red states are subsidized by blue states. And as for BUsh's terrorism angle, you'd think that NY would go for it wouldn't you... I mean if he were so strong in that respect. NY junked Bush as did all other coastal, important states.

If Alabama were the 6th or 7th largest economy in the world, you'd have a point. But it isn't. Bottom line- homophobia alone does not a great economic powerhouse make. And that is Bush's key angle, I believe.
