About the idea of the US invading Canada, high level officials of the US have said that Canada is a dangerous neighbor because Al Qaeda infiltrates through Canada. Also Canada refuses to fight Iraq, stalls on the (unworkable) missile defense, and generally is "uncooperative." So the left wing,(that includes me) in Canada see a menace from this bullying regime but the view that the US might invade Canada is a minority view. Probably around 85% of Canadians applauded when the Canadian government declined to send troops to Iraq.
