I don't doubt the first part of that. But I'd make a wager that virtually all of them are aware of the second amendment to the extent that they have the NRA mantra memorized rote.

Just out of curiosity, I went to Google a few minutes ago and came up with 80 million adults owning guns and 4 million members of NRA. That's about 5% of the gun owning poplulation who are members of the NRA.

That doesn't prove anything, but it does give you some sense of the proportions that we are talking about. Any gun owner who cares about the 2nd Amendment would join the NRA. They give a lot of benefits for their $35 membership including thousands of dollars of free insurance.

BTW I had no idea what the numbers were before I sent my message.
