kholt, Without the second amendment, the citizens would have no way to protect the freedoms of all of the other amendments. If taken over by a totalitarian government could, probably, not be overthrown, but their agenda could be disrupted, and the citizens could take a lot of them out in the process. It may not be a winning effort, but at least, we would have something to fight with.
