Perhaps, but he may have a good understanding of his constituents.

FWIW, I thought that SS was in crisis decades before it became fashionable. I am less concerned about it now than I have ever been because I have subsequently seen how growth can mitigate problems. I'd still like to see SS scrapped on principle, but I'm having trouble buying the current rhetoric or seeing how private accounts are, practically speaking, an overall better way. I'm waiting until there's an actual proposal on the table before I draw any more definite conclusions.
