waaayyyyy to much information not present to draw that conclusion.

Who or what did they pray to? If you pray to a rock or tree, I would not expect much in the way of results.

The Bible talks about another god that is not the father of Jesus Christ. The god of this world. This is the god that enjoys death and human suffering.

Sometimes people get convinced into worshiping the wrong god.

Such as when a person in convinced that killing innocents is godly. That they will receive a reward in heaven for committing murder.

The vast majority of people know that there is something wrong with that logic. Few realize how this logic came to exist. That the source of this logic is the god of this world who enjoys death and suffering.

And they continue to pray to that slime ..

Another person that deserves consideration is Adam.

Your ancestor sold your right to eternal life. He put all of his descendants under death.

Jesus Christ paid for you and I to be able to have it again. But it's a little tricky now .. you have to accept the free gift.

Perhaps that family should be taught who the real enemy is ..

That family needs comfort. And there are very specific words that we are to use to comfort each other at those times. The section ends with "Wherefore comfort one another with these words." The section is I Thes 4:13-18. The message is simple:

1. the loved one is not suffering.
2. we will be rejoined with the loved one soon.

Again .. life is 100% terminal. For the time being. That will be fixed soon.
