Good point. When I see a $20 shirt from China, I think that the shirt was probably $2 or less when it left the harbor in Hong Kong. So, there is $18 made by somebody and one has to wonder how much of this is cost shifting. For instance, what part of the $20 is freight and warehousing? How much is middlemen (living here or there). Etc.

If Americans buy 5 shirts a year at $20, that is $100 per person so, roughly $30 B in trade? Or is is only $300 MM with $27.0 B laundered (no pun intended) through international channels?
