Huennekens' boss, county Elections Director Dean Logan, said Friday many of the unexplained ballots probably were cast by registered voters who failed to sign in when they went to polling places.


All my life, I seem to have voted at places with stick-in-the-mud voting procedures. 1940s era voting machines or optical scan ballots. But I have always been required to sign in before I was allowed to vote. Always.

What kind of circus was King County running?
